My names josh I'm 25 and I have Poland Syndrome, It affects my right hand side, I'm missing both Pec major and minor as you can see my bicep and forearm are also affected my right hand is also smaller. I've always been into fitness and training but sometimes felt shy about having it as I always thought it was noticeable what I've come to realise is most people would never be able to tell when you have clothes on.
I started training seriously in October 2013 mainly bodybuilding but avoiding doing any chest really as I was weak in it and didn't want to draw attention to myself. After training for around 6 months I met a guy who is now my training partner and good friend, when I told him about PS he was interested but treated me no different and made me start training chest with him as he did but lighter of course. Since then I've trained chest as if I didn't have a missing Pec moving more towards power lifting and as a result both arms and shoulder and my left Pec have all grown a lot. So in my opinion when it comes to training and general life try not to think about it too much and do your thing, but obviously when lifting remember you have it as you might be more prone to injury on that side.
I also remember as a child my mum was always worried about it causing an issue when it came to girls and I can fist hand so most don't even notice it and if they do or once you tell them they don't care especially not as much as you do, id say just get in shape so they have something to look at haha, But on a serious note it is what it is and you can’t let it stop you from getting on with what you want to do.
If anyone has any questions about either how I train or just living with PS in general feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to answer as well as I can.
